About this qualification

This qualification provides learners with the underpinning knowledge required to become a health champion within the workplace.

The qualification is designed for learners who have responsibility for promoting health choices within the workplace, or who would like to get involved in championing workplace health.

This qualification is designed in partnership with Active Lancashire and there is a particular focus on physical activity.

Who is it suitable for?

This qualification is designed for individuals that have an interest in health improvement as well as physical activity and wish to embed this into everyday life within the workplace. As the qualification is knowledge only then the learner does not have to be working at the time of study however all of the knowledge is specific to the workplace so it would be preferable.

It may also be useful to learners studying qualifications in the following sectors:

• health and social care
• sport and physical activity

What are the entry requirements?

Entry is at the discretion of the centre. However, learners should be aged 16 or above to undertake this qualification.

There are no specific prior skills/knowledge a learner must have for this qualification.

How is this qualification structured?

This qualification consists of one mandatory unit.

How is it assessed?

This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence that is internally assessed and externally quality assured.

Do you need to be working to take this qualification?

This qualification is a knowledge only qualification. Working is not essential however all of the knowledge is specific to the workplace so it would be preferable.
