Supporting your delivery March 2023 | NCFE

What can we help you find?

 Supporting your delivery March 2023

We understand that there are times when a student or provider feels that a result is at variance with their reasonable expectations. Therefore, following results release for the Autumn series in March 2023, there is a range of post-results options available to providers to support you and your students.

Requests for Reviews of Marking or Access to Scripts can be submitted by the provider on behalf of the student (with their consent), however before doing so, please ensure you’re familiar with our Enquiries about Results and Assessment Decisions Policy.

More information on post-results services can be found here.

Providers delivering the following qualifications must access assessment materials and submit evidence for moderation in line with timescales outlined in the Key Date Schedule (KDS).

Providers must inform students of their marks prior to submitting these to NCFE to allow students the opportunity to request a review of provider marking. Providers must make it clear that any marks are subject to change through the moderation process.

The Portal will close at the end of the assessment window, as outlined in the KDS. All learner marks must be entered before the Portal closes and any inactive learners withdrawn. Once the Portal closes, at the end of the assessment window, learners selected for moderation will show in the ‘Bookings’ area of Portal the following day. You’ll need to log into the Portal to see which learners have been selected for sampling. This will be based on JCQ guidance which will be the learner with the highest mark, lowest mark and a range in between.

The required evidence for each learner selected for sampling must be uploaded within two working days of this being available, excluding any bank holidays. Please note this will fall within half term holidays for some providers. Providers must ensure that adequate resource is available during this time to upload evidence required for moderation. A checklist detailing what evidence must be submitted will be available on the Portal when the assessment window opens, in line with the dates in the KDS. It’s advised that evidence for each learner is collated during the assessment in readiness to support the upload for moderation at the end of the assessment window.
Providers are advised to ensure that this evidence is stored in a central location with access made available to the staff who will be responsible for uploading it to the Portal for moderation.
We’re currently updating our TQ Portal User Guide, to explain how to view learners selected for sampling and how to upload learner evidence. This will be available to view in the Portal and on our website in April.
