Health, Healthcare Science and Science specific updates May 2023
These pathway-specific events are focused on preparing for year two and the delivery of the Occupational Specialism (OS) content. They’re aimed at teaching and delivery staff of the T Level Technical Qualification in Health, Science or Healthcare Science.
These CPD sessions will explore:
- approaches to curriculum planning and delivery of the occupational specialism content
- how resources could be used and adapted to meet the needs of a range of students
- teaching and learning strategies that could be used and adapted to prepare students for the synoptic assessments
- sharing of best practice in formative assessment and bringing knowledge ‘to life’ in delivery; how to make links to the industry and build on students’ core knowledge within the specialist area.

This is an opportunity for providers to get the support they need at times that are suitable for them. Providers from both years of delivery will be able to attend and get support. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions about the teaching and learning of the qualification.

Supporting progression for T Level Health and Science Students, 8 June at 4pm
This session will focus on the student journey through the qualification and how you can support their progression.
Health and Science T Levels Onboarding: Understanding the Technical Qualification, 13 June at 4:30pm
This event will provide an overview of the onboarding process, highlighting how NCFE will support tutors throughout teaching and delivery. It will explore the structure of the qualification including key teaching and learning content, assessment structure, and timelines. It will also include the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have about the qualification.
Lessons learned from delivery of the T Levels in Health and Science, 22 June at 4pm
The session will allow participants to:
- review the lessons learned on completion of the two-year programme
- explore ways in which the Core content and Occupational Specialism (OS) teaching and learning can be planned and delivered in a way in which maximises student success
