Do you know someone who deserves to win the Educator of the Year award?
Previously known as the Teacher/Tutor of the Year award, this award recognises an educator who has gone above and beyond to support their learner or apprentices. This could be anything from supporting a learner or apprentice facing difficult circumstances to ensure they can continue with their studies and achieve, helping their learners or apprentices to overcome obstacles to flourish and surpass expectations, or delivering innovative and high quality teaching that resonates. This educator must either teach an NCFE qualification or support an apprentice who is going through EPA with NCFE.
What should my nomination include?
You can write up to 1,000 words about why you’re nominating this person for this award. You should consider including the following in your nomination:
- Has this person gone above and beyond their role to make a difference for learners, or played a strong role in changing outcomes for learners?
- Has this person made a significant contribution to learning at the centre, the future of learning, or the sector in general?
- Has this person taken opportunities to develop and progress, to improve their practice and ensure they’re providing the best possible support to others?

Our Educator of the Year 2023: Lucy Sharp
Last year’s winner was Lucy Sharp, Education and Early Years T Level Coordinator and teacher at Derby College. Working extremely hard over the previous two years to develop the new Education and Early Years T Level, Lucy played an integral role in ensuring students received the best quality education and achieved the highest of their ability.
Our Educator of the Year 2022: Jack Turner
A talented musician, who once performed with his group at Glastonbury, Jack uses his music and creativity to hook in disengaged learners and make a difference in their lives. He has been described by his colleagues as someone who embodies the school vision and values and has supported many learners to success.
