This award recognises a school/college/training provider that is shaping smarter learning by going above and beyond to create transformational learning experiences and implement innovative approaches. This could include initiatives to support learners or apprentices, introducing programmes or processes to support learner or apprentice outcomes, or increasing additional support to ensure success.
What should my nomination include?
You can write up to 1,000 words about why you’re nominating this centre for this award. You should consider including the following in your nomination:
- Has the centre introduced new programmes, processes or initiatives that have had a positive impact on learner outcomes?
- Does the centre have a positive impact not only on its learners, but also on the wider community?
- Is the centre shaping smarter learning by implementing innovative approaches to education?
- Does the centre support their staff to progress and develop?

Our Centre of the Year 2024 winner: Hull College
After undergoing a historic transformation over the last year and a half, our 2024 Aspiration Awards Centre of the Year, Hull College, has been on a journey from instability and near bankruptcy to becoming one of the UK's top-performing further education institutions.
During this time, they’ve embarked on an inspiring journey towards success driven by a re-energised staff team, focusing on student success, improving culture and financial stability, and championing innovation.
Our Centre of the Year 2023: Learning Curve Group
Learning Curve Group is a national training and education specialist who works with further education providers, employers and learners to help them achieve success. They support over 200,000 learners each year, working with over 4,500 employers, including local authorities, micro-businesses, and levy-paying organisations. They impressed the judges with their dedication to their learners’ needs, ensuring that every student receives equal opportunities and the support to succeed in their studies.
