About this qualification
This qualification is designed to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding of web design to work in a web design team, as a freelance web designer or seek an opportunity for relevant employment.
Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for learners who are working or would like to work in a web design team.
What are the entry requirements?
Entry is at the discretion of the centre. However, learners should be aged 16 or above to undertake this qualification.
Centres are responsible for ensuring that this qualification is appropriate for the age and ability of learners. They need to make sure that learners can fulfil the requirements of the learning outcomes and comply with the relevant literacy, numeracy and health and safety aspects of this qualification.
How is this qualification structured?
To be awarded the NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Web Design (603/7370/2), learners are required to successfully complete 5 mandatory units.
How is it assessed?
The assessment consists of 1 component which is an internally assessed portfolio of evidence which is assessed by centre staff and externally quality assured by NCFE (IQA must still be completed by the centre as per usual).
Internally assessed work should be completed by the learner in accordance with the qualification specification.
How long will it take to complete this qualification?
The minimum duration of this qualification is 190 GLH. It typically takes 12 months to complete this qualification.
Centres are free to decide how long this qualification should take and how many GLH per week/month is appropriate.
Do you need to be working to take this qualification?
This qualification does not require learners to be working or complete a work/industry placement experience.
