About this qualification
This qualification is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills required to enter a job role within the digital workforce area, such as a data technician. This qualification is mapped against the Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship Standard. It is a standalone qualification that does not form part of the apprenticeship standard or end-point assessment.
Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 or over wishing to gain or upskill their knowledge and competence to work in the digital sector or for progression beyond level 3.
What are the entry requirements?
Entry is at the discretion of the centre. However, learners should be aged 16 or above to undertake this qualification.
How is this qualification structured?
To be awarded this qualification, learners are required to successfully complete 6 mandatory units as detailed in the qualification specification.
How is it assessed?
The assessment consists of an internally assessed portfolio of evidence, which is assessed by centre staff and externally quality assured by NCFE (internal quality assurance (IQA) must still be completed by the centre as usual).
How long will it take to complete this qualification?
The minimum duration of this qualification is 195 GLH. It typically takes 1 to 2 years to complete this qualification.
Centres are free to decide how long this qualification should take and how many GLH per week/month is appropriate.
Do you need to be working to take this qualification?
This qualification does not require learners to be working or complete a work/industry placement experience.
