About this qualification
This qualification is designed to provide in-depth information about the role of the level 3 playworker, and the knowledge required to work with children between the ages of 4 and 16 years.
Nested qualification
The certificate is nested within the Level 3 Diploma in Playwork and is mainly knowledge based with a limited amount of practical application. This allows for a progression route to the diploma.
Qualifications within a nested suite allow learners to be topped up to a qualification that is the same level and subject within the Award, Certificate, Diploma structure. This can be done by self-service through the Portal. Qualification nests and top-up pricing can be found in our fees list.
Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is designed for learners who work or wish to work with children between the ages of 4 and 16 in playwork settings.
What are the entry requirements?
Learners should be at least 18 years old. We do not set any other entry requirements but colleges or training providers may have their own guidelines.
How is this qualification structured?
Learners are required to successfully achieve 24 credits from the 8 mandatory units.
How is it assessed?
This qualification is internally assessed and externally quality assured.

Learners can usually complete this qualification in a year or less.
Do you need to be working to take this qualification?
This is a knowledge-based qualification. Work placement experience is not required.
