What does the qualification cover?
This qualification provides information about the role of the Level 3 playworker when working with children and young people between the ages of 4 to 16. It provides an understanding of the management of play environments and the line management of other staff.
The qualification is mainly knowledge based, with a limited amount of practical application.
What is a nested qualification?
This qualification is nested. Qualifications within a nested suite allow learners to be topped up to a qualification that is the same level and subject within the Certificate, Diploma structure. This can be done by self-service through the Portal. Qualification nests and top-up pricing can be found in our fees list.
Who is it suitable for?
Experienced playworkers who have a wide knowledge and understanding of children and young people and an appreciation of playwork principles and practice.
What are the entry requirements?
You should be at least 18 years old. We do not set any other entry requirements but colleges or training providers may have their own guidelines.
How many credits are required to complete it?
The Certificate requires 32 credits.
How is it assessed?
The qualification will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task.
Do you need to be working to take the qualification?
You will require basic access to a playwork environment.
How long does it take to complete?
You can usually complete the qualification in a year or less.

A Degree in a related discipline.
