NEA brief now live
We’re pleased to let you know that the NEA brief for your year 11 learners is now available to download. The brief will help you to plan the assessment timetable and what equipment and resources you’ll need to administer the assessment.
Your learners should only start the NEA once teaching and learning of all the content has been delivered. This will ensure that your learners are in the best position to complete the NEA successfully.
You can access the brief by logging in to the Portal. Use the navigation ribbon at the top of the screen to select ‘bookings’ then ‘view assessments’. From there, you can search for the NEA booking in the Assessment (External Moderation) tab. For further guidance on accessing assessment materials, watch this short video.
Updated tutor guides
We’ve also updated the tutor guides which you can find on the qualification pages on our website. These guides will help you to plan your NEA, provide guidance on requirements of safe storage of live assessment materials and prepare your learners for the NEA assessment. Please ensure you download the new version and take a look at the summary of changes, which can be found at the end of each guide.
Subject specific updates
Following your feedback, we’ve made a number of updates to content within the qualification specifications of some of our V Cert qualifications:
Child Development and Care in the Early Years
Previously, the 10 types of transition were listed in content area 4.2.1 and 6 of these types were developed in content area 2.5. Now all 10 types of transition are fully developed in content area 2.5, to clarify their relevance to the existing content in 2.5. We’ve also updated our learning resources to reflect this change and you can access these on the qualification page.
Health and Fitness
We’ve made small amendments to some of the terminology within the qualification specification of NCFE Level 1/2 Technical Award in Health and Fitness. We’ve listened to your feedback and we’re committed to providing the most up-to-date and fit-for-purpose qualification content for your learners. Content areas that have had these minor amendments are as follows: 1.1.5, 1.1.6, 1.2.1, 1.2.2, 1.2.5, 1.2.6, 1.4.1, 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 3.2.1, 5.1.1, 5.1.4, 5.2, 7.1.3 and 8.1.5. Please ensure to use version 1.3 of the specification which can be found on the qualification page.
