Recap, Review and Refresh – English and Maths

If you’re new to Functional Skills or an experienced teacher after a refresh and review, then this CPD Day is for you! We’ll focus on maths and English at Level 1 and 2, giving you the opportunity to share strengths and challenges as well as come away with a toolbox of tips and techniques. Formative assessment – English 

This CPD session includes strategies that can be used in the learning environment to help with methods, tracking and recording learner progress. This includes feedback and feed forward strategies. All attendees will receive a digital CPD credential.

Problem solving – maths 

This session is the second of two CPD sessions on problem solving aimed at Functional Skills maths teachers to help learners progress in their ability to solve complex mathematical problems. This includes strategies for teaching, a step-by-step approach, identifying suitable operations and calculations to generate results, analysing and interpreting answers in the context of the original problem and sense checking. All attendees will receive a digital CPD credential.
