NEA – Submission of learner marks and uploading evidence
We’re fast approaching another significant period in delivering our non-examined assessment (NEA). Most of you will be working your way through the marking of the NEAs soon and you’ll need to turn your attention to submitting marks and uploading evidence on the Portal.
When can we submit our marks?
Marks can be submitted any time during the assessment window, which is 1 September until 30 April. Your learner marks must be assessed and internally quality assured before entering them onto the NCFE Portal. Here’s a short video on how to submit marks for moderation.
If you don’t submit marks for all of your learners on time, this will result in delays to the sampling plan being generated and in turn delay results for all of your learners.
What is the best way to upload evidence efficiently?
We know this can be a very busy time, so we wanted to share some hints and tips to support the reduction of time spent on uploading learner evidence.
Taking some time to consider the following could be key to uploading learner evidence in the most efficient way:
- file type
- file size
- internet speed
- file quality.
We’ve produced this guide to show how these factors can impact on upload times and speeds.
When can we submit our evidence?
Remember, if you have small cohorts of learners 15 or less, you can upload evidence at any time during the assessment window which is 1 Sep - 30 April. As you’ll need to provide evidence for all learners, you don’t need to wait until the sample plan is generated on 1 May.
If you have cohorts of 16 or more learners, you’ll need to refer to your sampling plan to see which learners’ evidence we need.
Where and when will I get the sampling plan?
You can access your sampling plan on the Portal on 1 May 2024, provided you have submitted the marks for all of your learners. Here’s a short video on how to view students selected for moderation and upload evidence.
How long will I have to upload my learner evidence?
The Portal will remain open for three working days after the sampling plan is generated, and close thereafter.
If you don’t submit evidence for all of your learners on time, this will result in delays to the moderation process and the issuing of results for all your learners.
