Digital Functional Skills
Our Digital Functional Skills external assessments have now gone live within our online assessment platform Surpass.
As this is a new qualification, it’s important that you read through our Tutor Guidance document here on the qualification page to provide you with a full understanding of the administration and delivery of the assessments in advance of making bookings.
All tutors must familiarise themselves with the Tutor Guidance document, paying particular attention to the following points and sections:
- Section 2.1.1 of the tutor guide emphasises that it is essential that learners are familiar with how to create zip files prior to sitting the assessment; further support is available within our demonstration functionality tool available on our qualification pages under Assessment Materials to show learners the functionality of the platform and practise zipping folders and uploading files.
- Section 6 provides all required pre-release guidance and files along with and other necessary information. It is essential that you read and understand all pre-release guidance to ensure that your learners have everything they need to complete their assessment.
We would also strongly recommend that all centres delivering Digital Functional Skills ensure learners complete practice assessments and utilise the demonstration functionality tool prior to their first live assessment, allowing familiarisation for centre staff delivering assessments and learners sitting assessments for the first time.
