Forging new pathways with accredited Wilderness Therapy training
eQe is a training organisation specialising in therapeutic approaches for both indoor and outdoor settings. They work with a range of businesses and educators to deliver training that enhances the mental health and wellbeing of children and adults, covering topics from therapeutic approaches in schools to Wilderness Therapy.
Bridget Sheehan, Director at eQe, explained how the organisation saw an opportunity to further enhance the value of their courses: “We wanted the learners to take away a qualification, so we began the process of becoming a recognised training centre with NCFE and then submitting our programmes for accreditation.”
Leading with accredited training
By partnering with NCFE to develop a number of Customised Qualifications, eQe have reinforced their strong reputation within their area of expertise, while providing learners with the added assurance of formal recognition from a leading awarding organisation.
Discussing the benefits of choosing accredited training, Bridget said: “Having the accreditation has really helped to mark us as leaders in this field of training. It has brought validation to the qualifications having them externally accredited.”
NCFE’s rigorous accreditation process is ideal for those who want to deliver a qualification they’ve designed themselves and use the awarding organisation to verify the quality and level of a qualification. eQe has successfully developed and delivered a number of bespoke qualifications, including Level 2 Award in Therapeutic Approaches in Schools, Level 3 Certificate in Advanced Wilderness Therapeutic Approaches, and Level 5 Diploma in Wilderness Psychotherapy.
Bridget explained: “Meeting the requirements for accreditation means that we have to be very thorough in our systems and procedures. This clarity of working systems is really beneficial for our team as they know what is expected of them. It also helps us to keep the team on track and to make sure the standard is maintained.”
Inspiring confidence and growth
One learner shared feedback on their transformative experience of completing an accredited qualification with eQe: “This course has changed so many things for me. It has allowed me to find the playful and passionate self within me that had such drive, determination, and passion once. I was able to search for a new direction and path to follow.
“It has highlighted again my love for nature and the important connection with us as humans, as well as the potential for others to find healing and self-discovery. I’ve discovered new things like knife work, spoon carving, foraging, archery, and tracking.”
Recognising a gap in the market that regulated qualifications were unable to fulfil, eQe forged their own path by pursuing accreditation for their bespoke wilderness training courses.
This approach has provided learners with the opportunity to gain recognised and quality hallmarked qualifications. Their journey showcases how accreditation can enhance credibility and inspire growth within specialist training organisations, no matter the subject area you specialise in!
