What can we help you find?

Occupational Specialism (OS) marking deadlines

As we approach the final stages of the moderation window for T Levels in 2023-24, we want to remind you of the upcoming crucial deadlines and required actions relating to submitting marks for the Occupational Specialisms (OS). It’s vital you meet all deadlines to ensure your students receive accurate and timely results.

Remember to access our T Level summer series webpage for the reminders across all aspects of T Level assessments

What is required?

All student marks for the above Occupational Specialism assignments must be entered before the Portal closes today (as outlined in the Key Dates Schedule), and this includes withdrawing any inactive students. You should:

  • Inform your students of their marks before submitting them to us to allow students to request a review of provider marking.
  • Enter marks in the ‘Submit marks’ screen, in the ‘Moderation’ area of the Portal.
  • If a student did not attend an assessment, you must submit a Did Not Attend (DNA) as their mark for all tasks in the Portal. You should also do this for any students who have withdrawn. All students must have an entry. Do not enter 0 unless a student legitimately scored 0 marks after attempting.

If you need further support, there is guidance on our preparing for moderation webpage. You can also download this document to guide you through entering marks for the T Level in Health.

Why do you need to do this?

Failure to do this may result in potential maladministration and will be referred to our Provider Assurance team for further review. It also may impact final moderation and delay results.

Evidence submission

  • A sampling plan will be available from 20 May for all T Levels.
  • You must upload all the required evidence outlined on the T Level Upload Checklists provided per OS for students in the sampling plan within 3 working days. These checklists will be available on the portal until the end of June.
  • Do not click the ‘no evidence required’ option unless the student has not sat the assessment and has no evidence. Choosing this option cannot be undone, so if evidence does need to be submitted, you’ll be unable to do so.

Providers with more than 15 students in the cohort

Following initial moderation, if the Moderator needs to moderate the entire cohort, we’ll be in contact with your provider. We’ll contact the Programme Contact to request this additional evidence so please be prepared.

Failure to submit evidence within the required timescales will result in delays to final moderation and student results. This will also affect your provider's risk rating following moderation. Failing to submit evidence may result in potential maladministration and will be referred to our Provider Assurance team for further review.

Invigilator Register – not required for T Level moderation

You may have downloaded an Invigilator Register from the Portal when accessing the live assessment materials for T Level moderation.  Please note that this register is not a requirement and does not need to be uploaded when submitting evidence.

Other assignment completion

Remember that the moderated assignment is only one of several assignments within these Occupational Specialisms. Each qualification has at least one other assignment which is externally assessed, with details outlined in the Key Dates Schedule.

For these, there are no marks to be submitted for moderation, but there are dates for assignment completion, and deadlines for upload of completed student evidence to NCFE via our Portal (three working days after the date of assessment, or the last day of the assessment window).

These assignments are externally assessed, meaning unlike the moderated assignments, you shouldn’t access the assignment brief or review student responses before submission.
