V Cert in Health and Fitness

Our Level 1/2 Technical Award in Health and Fitness provides core knowledge to pupils who are passionate about fitness and performance – from the structure and function of body systems and the effects of health and fitness activities on the body, through to the principles of training and how to structure a health and fitness programme.
V Cert Technical Awards are designed to be delivered over two years. The first year of delivery is entirely dedicated to teaching and learning, with all summative assessments taking place in the final year of study. The Health and Fitness V Cert Technical Award is assessed by Non-Exam Assessment (60%) and Examined Assessment (40%).

→ The same size and delivery time as a GCSE.

→ Graded at Level 1 Pass, Merit, Distinction and Level 2 Pass, Merit, Distinction, Distinction*, equivalent to GCSE grades 8.5−1.
Who this qualification is for
This qualification is designed for pupils who are interested in health, fitness and the human body; and who enjoy learning through practical, applied experiences. It offers a strong foundation in the principles of health and fitness, combining theoretical understanding with hands-on activities that allow pupils to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios.
Key topics will be explored such as how the body’s systems function, the effects of exercise, the components of fitness and the principles of training. This course is ideal for learners considering further study or a future career in health, fitness, sport or personal training.
