Sport continues to be a crucial factor in bringing about a shift in our nation’s levels of physical activity, and over half a million people1 in the UK are currently employed within the industry.
The sport and physical activity sector has also seen a 42% increase in growth in all regions of the UK since 2003, thanks to developments in technology and the emergence of popularity in fitness facilities and fitness instructor roles.
We’ve worked with some of the leading industry experts to develop our range of sport qualifications, to ensure they provide learners with the knowledge, skills and behaviours they’ll need to succeed in this field.
Our courses provide routes into higher education, with Level 3 qualifications attracting UCAS points and support from leading universities, as well as pathways into the workforce.

Case Study
Albion Football Club learners achieve excellence
Albion in the Community - the official charity of Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club - offers a range of NCFE qualifications, including the Level 2 Certificate in Sport and Level 2 Certificate in Health and Fitness. It also provides supporting qualifications in Employability Skills, IT and Functional Skills.
Jack Tear, a learner who achieved qualifications in Sport, Exercise Studies and Employability, commented: “Completing these NCFE qualifications has helped build my confidence by giving me the opportunity to gain work experience and develop my skills.”
