Education around Early Neurodevelopment (SEEN Programme)

The SEEN Programme (Secondary Education around Early Neurodevelopment) teaches learners and early years practitioners about brain development and the importance of the caregiver.
Initially piloted by the University of Oxford in 2021, we’ve now developed and extended these learning materials to create four lessons specifically designed to support Early Years Educators’ understanding of the science behind early brain development and the role of the caregiver.
The lessons include important content on:
- Lesson 1 – The role, structure and function of the brain
- Lesson 2 – Epigenetics and stress
- Lesson 3 – Neuroplasticity and resilience
- Lesson 4 – Brain development and the role of the caregiver.
Watch our webinar with Mandy Cuttler, Head of Pedagogy, Learning and Development at LEYF, and Molly Devlin, Headteacher at ArkStart to find out how these resources help students extend their learning.
