Our sector expertise
Sector point of view
To innovate in healthcare, a primary focus must be on digital health. Although it won’t replace the holistic contact many patients need, digital provides opportunities to improve diagnostic imagery and reduce human error.
The Health and Care Bill, and suggested social care reforms, will hopefully have a significant impact on mental health services. It’s a challenging time for these services, with over 1.6 million people receiving mental health treatment. Four times as many haven’t been given a diagnosis or are yet to receive treatment since the pandemic started.
We can improve services and efficiency with technology, using e-consultations and apps, whilst laboratory results and analysis can be shared quicker and more securely than ever before. We’ll use our health and digital resources to support the future of this sector.

We recently awarded Science Saves with our Social Impact Fund, a fund which helps us to increase the number of lives we positively impact through promoting and advancing learning.
Science Saves brings scientists to schools, inspiring learners to pursue healthcare science as a career. With our fund, they can continue to bring science to the forefront of 14-18-year-olds’ minds.
