With the Government’s recent commitment to increasing police numbers1, it’s a great time to consider the opportunities that a career in the uniformed services sector provides.
The Fire Brigade Union is also seeking an additional 5,000 firefighters2, a recruitment area that continues to grow whilst providing roles that are rich with opportunities for progression.
Our uniformed public services qualifications are flexible and current, with our Level 3 qualifications attracting UCAS points and providing routes into higher education whilst also allowing learners to progress into employment within their chosen field..
We’ve worked collaboratively with industry experts and key stakeholders to develop this range of qualifications, ensuring learners receive the knowledge, skills and understanding to excel on this pathway.

Supporting learner success
Learners on the NCFE Level 2 and 3 Diploma Entry to the Uniformed Services at Suffolk New College are gaining skills for a wide range of occupational roles in public services.
Jack, a learner at Suffolk New College, said: “My NCFE qualification is providing me with the skills, knowledge and understanding of a wide range of roles within the sector. It’ll help me to go on to apply to be a police officer.”
Lee Mandley, Head of Sport and Public Services at Suffolk New College, commented: “These qualifications include a range of modules specific to the day-to-day roles of the Uniformed Public Services.
