Quality Assurance Team
The Quality Assurance team is responsible for all aspects of Quality Assurance which involves our customers and External Contractors.
The Quality Assurance team is responsible for managing and maintaining the integrity of the assessment processes of all NCFE and CACHE qualifications, both in-house and at our approved centres.
The team is split in to 5 sub teams:
Assessment Delivery is managed by Joanna Fairless and they are responsible for the external assessment element of our qualifications. This involves dispatching, marking and releasing results for our qualifications with external assessment. The team is also responsible for the recruitment, training and performance management of Examiners and for ensuring external assessments are carried out under the appropriate conditions.
Assessment Design is managed by Paul Kelly and is responsible for the production, development, and performance of valid and reliable external assessments within the NCFE CACHE portfolio. Performing a cross functional role, the team also need to ensure that assessments developed by us are appealing to learners and employers and are manageable for those delivering the qualification.
Curriculum is managed by Paul White with a remit to support customers deliver their NCFE qualification. The Curriculum Team are tasked with conducting curriculum support visits, particularly for new centres that have no experience of NCFE qualifications. This support can include lesson planning, developing schemes of work, signposting to resources and sharing best practice. The team can also provide advice and guidance on the quality assurance and assessment processes for V-Cert and Functional Skills qualifications in addition to running teaching events and support webinars.
The External Quality Assurance (EQA) team is managed by Kay Barrass and is responsible for the quality assurance of all internally assessed products. This includes centre approval, centre monitoring and evaluation. We are responsible for the recruitment, training and performance of our External Quality Assurers who carry out this centre monitoring. Processing is managed by Leanne Lacey and is responsible for dealing with any centre approval applications from new customers and also applications from existing customers who want to offer additional qualifications. The Processors despatch all of the exam papers to our customers, and manage the administration of their return so that they can be marked by NCFE’s Examiners. We process all examination results, and we produce over 400,000 certificates every year.
