Not just for junior staff or manual workers – build a pipeline of talent across the business

Apprenticeships are the perfect way for businesses to access new talent. However, Apprenticeships are not only for entry level positions, and can also further develop a pipeline of highly skilled, competent and dedicated staff.

Apprentices can be of any age, the only requirement is that staff are over 16, not in full-time education, and spend at least 50% of their working hours in England.

Staff in all tiers of an organisation, across all sectors, can benefit from an Apprenticeship programme, as programmes can upskill staff in Apprenticeships as high as level 7. For example, employees can undertake a Level 5 Apprenticeship in Departmental Management that can provide a direct career path to higher level
managerial positions.

Apprenticeship programmes can upskill and re-train existing employees, allowing businesses to invest in staff with real progression opportunities and access to nationally accredited qualifications. 

Investing in existing staff via Apprenticeships has a profound positive effect on employee retention and staff motivation and loyalty; 80% of companies who invest in Apprentices reported a significant increase in employee retention and 92% of employers who employ Apprentices believe Apprenticeships lead to a more motivated and satisfied workforce.
