NCFE qualification endorsed by top Business Travel Management company

NCFE’s recently developed Level 3 Award in Business Travel has been endorsed by several business travel experts, including Clarity, part of the Portman Travel Group, which includes Elegant Resorts and If Only.

Clarity is a Top 10 Business Travel Management company with over 60 years of experience. They provide global business travel solutions and services to a wide range of clients through global business travel programme development and long term business planning.

Creating new entry points to the workplace

Commenting on the endorsement, Neil Wainwright-Farrar, Head of Learning and Development at Clarity said: “NCFE allowed me to share my personal knowledge and experience which I have gained from 25+ years in the travel industry to help shape this qualification. They were open to my ideas and suggestions to ensure a high quality programme was in place for learners.

There is a need for this qualification, as it aims to bring in highly knowledgeable workers into the business travel industry. It creates another entry point for people wanting to enter this industry, and provides learners with the skills and knowledge required for a career in this environment.”

The level 3 qualification can be taught either in person or virtually and has been carefully designed to be delivered as a standalone qualification, or as part of a wider travel and tourism award.

Fully supported learning

Neil continued: “Staff members at Clarity have completed the 3 units: ‘Introduction to business travel’, ‘21st century travel management’ and ‘Evolution of the business travel industry’. They have all spoken highly of how in-depth the content is and how engaging they found it. It has helped them to increase their knowledge and awareness of the wider industry, something they wouldn’t necessarily have found in their day-to-day roles. Throughout their learning they felt fully supported with a user friendly online learning platform, with a variety of learning and engagement activities throughout.

I would highly recommend this qualification to learners; it’s very comprehensive and once they have successfully secured their qualification, they would become more desirable candidates to Clarity, compared to people without industry knowledge.”

Fit for purpose qualifications

Paul Burkin, Qualifications Developer at NCFE said: “Qualification development is a collaborative process and working with industry expert stakeholders is essential to ensure our qualifications are fit for purpose. Clarity is one of the leading travel management companies in the sector and we were delighted to get the opportunity to work with Neil to create a qualification that is the only one of its kind and provides the opportunity for learners to gain valuable skills in an industry that is currently experiencing significant growth.”
